I am really honoured to be included within Sunflower friends. Are you worried your stress may affect your growing little one? Reducing long periods of stress and adding in more periods of relaxation lowers your risk of long term health problems like high blood pressure and heart disease and increases your chances of having a full term and normal birth weight baby. We’ve all heard how important it is to remain stress free and relaxed during pregnancy but it’s easier said than done right?! This is where I come in. I’m passionate about providing my mums the space to truly unwind and allay any fears they have, so they stay relaxed, happy and confident throughout their pregnancies and beyond. All my therapies are safe during pregnancy and are proven to reduce stress and anxiety along with enhancing feelings of happiness & calm, lowering of blood pressure, reduction of toxins, balancing of hormones & increasing general energy levels being just a few. All huge benefits to yourself and your precious little one. And all you have to do is turn up. Seeing the change in my mums as they progress through their pregnancies and the gorgeous smiley, CALM babies they go on to have is the best gift in the world (to me AND to them).
Your Therapy Centre in Fordingbridge Arch Clinic is a private, convenient, tranquil space with its own parking and where a wide range of accessible, effective, affordable therapies are available under one roof.
We support mothers and carers of infants who want to enhance this very special bond in early months through baby massage with Sunflower Baby Massage. These courses are a wonderful way to spend mindful, quality time together away from the stresses and strains life can impose and promote development of stronger parent-child relationships and understanding.
We are delighted to be a friend of Sunflower Baby Massage. At Dorset Parent Infant Partnership (DorPIP) we too understand the importance of nurturing touch and calm parenting to both parents and babe.
Founded in 2017 by Viv Allen, DorPIP have several associates who are experts in parent infant relationships serving Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch. We create a safe, nurturing space where parents can talk about their thoughts and explore how it feels to be a parent, from conception up to when baby is 2.
We give parents time to think about the changes that being a parent has made to their life and relationships. And most importantly we give parents the opportunity to think about the emerging relationship they have with their baby. Because every person, no matter how small, is unique we give you the chance to slow down, take stock and feel the special connection between you and your baby.
If you are concerned or worried that you are not feeling or connecting with your baby how you'd imagined you would; or if you would like to be able to understand their cues and respond to their cry's better, then come and see us at DorPIP. We can help you to find the joy parenting even through those tiring and confusing early days. We offer a confidential service to help you enhance the bonds between you and your baby that will help your family to flourish.
The Prepare™ Postnatal Pilates and body rehabilitation classes aim to retain or regain a (mental) connection to your core, rebalance the body by releasing stuck muscles and strengthening them in preparation for childbirth, and then postnatally the same principles to create balance and strength after the birth of baby by releasing stuck muscles and strengthening them in a functional and respectful way after birth taking into consideration the amazing job that your body has done in creating and birthing.
Working towards creating balance between Pelvic Floor, Diaphragm and Abdominals but also taking into consideration that the placement of our feet will effect this balance, the position we hold our head, our Pelvis, and our shoulders in will all have an effect on how your Pelvic floor and Abdominals work. Once we get this optimal balance we can then work to strengthen the body.
Creating this balance helps to heal Diastasis recti/separation of the abdominals improves pelvic floor function – it is not a quick fix you need to work at it and I am more than happy to coach and encourage you along this journey – I’ll be on it with you all the way.
What does it take to get this balance, focus concentration and practice! We work in small groups where nothing is held back; – we laugh cry and champion each other along being a mum to a small person is one hell of a journey so let’s do it together. Drop me a line if you’d like further information on the pre and post natal classes we run and also remember that these principles are also a very important part of all our Pilates classes so if you are not ‘just’ postnatal – so your babies are big, to me postnatal protocol is part of your class with me anyone who has had a baby ever will be following these principles in my ordinary Pilates classes.
Daisy First Aid offers fun and fear-free first aid courses designed specifically for parents and child carers. In a two hour class, which takes place in the attendees own home or local venue, the world of emergency first aid unfolds, as parents, grandparents and care givers interact and learn the skills they need to save a life and to treat the most common accidents and emergencies.
Most parents panic that they may not know what to do in an emergency, we teach first aid classes to parents covering all the things that could (but hopefully won’t) happen – so every parent can feel confident they’d know what to do should their little one need them.
Our classes empower parents to have confidence if they are faced with an emergency and to trust their instincts when it comes to their children’s health.
“We train thousands of parents every year and when you get that call to say a parent saved their child’s life thanks to our class, that is the most unbelievably emotional feeling. We are all so passionate about the importance of first aid and absolutely love what we do.” ~ Jenni Dunman CEO Daisy First Aid
Babies and breastfeeding are very welcome in our classes.
I am Rebecca, midwife, nurse specialist, qualified reflexologist and founder of Babyology Dorset. I am also a mum of two lovely boys and remember well the highs and lows of life with a new baby. I am passionate about supporting parents as they welcome their new arrival, promoting confidence and nurturing the bond between parents and babies.
At Babyology Dorset we recognise both the immediate and long lasting benefits of loving touch between parent and baby. Loving touch supports bonding through baby led interaction. By interacting through touch a parent's ability to recognise and respond to baby's cues is enhanced, strengthening the special connection between parent and baby.
Puddle Ducks' unique child-led approach to baby and child swimming classes is all about fun, confidence, grace and safety in the water. Babies can join our classes as soon as mum is ready to get in the water after giving birth. We teach life-saving skills from as young as six months old, so that should your child ever need them, they have a bank of invaluable skills that could save their life. Each class lasts half an hour and provides a wonderful bonding opportunity for parents and their child - there is no other activity quite like it for your little ones.
Class sizes are small, meaning our highly trained and qualified teachers can identify children's levels of ability and adapt activities to the individual, nurturing confidence and encouraging natural ability. Quality of teaching has been our top priority for ten years, and we're constantly developing our teaching programme and methods to ensure your children receive the very best swimming lessons for your precious little ones.
All classes take place in privately owned clean, warm pools and combine a carefully balanced set of activities including group and individual work, swimming, child-led submersion, floating (without armbands!), songs and games. We're big on fun, and our classes incorporate rhyme, music and movement based on extensive child development research.
Classes throughout Dorset & West Hants; including Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Blandford, New Milton and Wimborne. Get in touch to find your local class, or to book a FREE taster session with your little one! tel: 01202 674676 email : email@example.com www.puddleducks.com/dorset
Antenatal and parentcraft classes have, until now, always followed a similar pattern and content. However, The Naked Midwives challenge that! Whilst they are midwives – they are not naked! The name refers to the fact that all the classes are in depth and comprehensive and cover all birth eventualities together with the joys and challenges that can present when becoming parents.
As practising midwives Alex Williams and Samantha Pantlin constantly meet so many women who feel disappointed or a sense of failure if their birth experience does not mirror their ideal birth plan. These unrealistic expectations and lack of all the facts, led to the birth of The Naked Midwives with the company mantra that women only have choices if they are truly informed. Straight talking with no fluff or filter, The Naked Midwives offer common sense advice and discussion that includes everything expectant parents need to know, delivered in unique, comfortable and friendly environments.
Co-founder Sam said, ‘we stress the importance of having flexible birth plans – and when writing a birth plan, use it as an opportunity to research all different types of birth and pain relief. After all, birth can be unpredictable and we want to empower women – not have anyone who attends our courses to ever feel like they have ‘failed’ in what is such a life changing event’.
Asked what makes The Naked Midwives different from other providers, Alex said ‘well apart from being practising midwives, we are passionate about women feeling positive about their birth. Having a baby is a life changing event and we want to not only manage expectations but to give women the strength, knowledge and awareness of childbirth. We spend a great deal of time talking about the early stages of labour – get that right and you are half way there. All our classes are interactive and fun, we will tell it how it is’.
With class sizes kept to a maximum of ten couples with two registered midwives with a passion for teaching, the women and their partners make strong friendships with other like-minded new parents and these groups provide invaluable support to each other during their pregnancy, birth and the early years. Further details about The Naked Midwives and the range of classes available can be found at www.thenakedmidwives.co.uk

Belly casting is the art of capturing a moment in time. A belly cast is a work of art capturing the bond between you and your unborn baby. It is also a relaxing and soothing time which can help solidify the connection between you and your baby before birth as you view the space you have made for your child. The best time to create a belly cast is from around 37 weeks (earlier in the case of twin or multiple pregnancies). Don't miss out on a once in a lifetime opportunity to celebrate your beautiful bump and create a timeless, unique pregnancy keepsake cast.
